Acne Scar Treatment in Manhattan & Brooklyn

Acne is caused by excessive production of sebaceous glands and multiplying of bacteria Proprionebacterium acne.

Acne vulgaris is very common in adolescent boys and girls and young men and women.

There are a variety of lesions including white and black camedones, red papules, cysts filled with pus. The end process is scarring with erupted, flat or depressed scars. What upsets more is the location of these lesions primarily on the face which has significant impact on young people followed by low self-esteem, decreased confidence and depression at most vulnerable age.

Every sebaceous follicle has a canal to release the content to the skin surface and when the passage is blocked the bacteria Proprionebacterium acne starts to multiply, causing inflammation.

Treatment of acne is a long process and requires patients' focus and motivation. A combination of  Light treatment and medication is deemed necessary for every individual case. We provide individualized acne laser blue light treatment in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

The goals of treatment are: decrease number of bacteria P. acne, reduce size of lesions, open the pores, decrease activity of sebaceous glands, and bring it to low level.

We start with microdermabrasion to open the pores, remove dead epidermal cells, increase blood flow to the face and face lymphatic drainage. Deep heating with a special AC Applicator decreases activity of sebaceous glands. Short light waves of blue light spectrum target the sebaceous glands, produce oxygen free radicals that kills the P. acne bacteria. Light in red spectrum dries the glands.

Acne treatment protocol requires treating patients twice a week – 8 acne treatments. After one month we provide maintenance treatments once or twice a month.

Our scar treatment center also provides treatment for acne scars and different other scars: postoperative, hypertrophic scars, kelloid scars. For stretch marks we use new fractional sublative skin rejuvenation E-matrix: skin tightening, scar irradication. We combine corticosteroid injections, freezing the scars to very low temperatures. This is the best way to decrease itching, pain, redness and size of the scar.
